Hello, I'm Anne Clarke, and that photo on the right is really me. I've
been a career development and management consultant for many years, and
before that I worked in senior Human Resources positions. So I'm old and,
hopefully, wise! A few years ago I wrote a little book called Managing People: the practical psychology of interpersonal skills for business. It contained lots of practical advice for those who have to deal with others in the workplace, whether they are people who report to you, or people superior to you in the hierarchy like your boss, and your boss's boss. (If you're sharp-eyed you might have noticed that the book in the photo has Anne Evans as the author's name. It's still me; that was my name when the book was published but that was a while ago and I've re-married.) Managing People was a modest success here in Australia, but would you believe it is now out of print and you can't buy it anywhere! So I decided to make it available as an electronic book to help all you managers, supervisors and team leaders out there to get on better with people at work. Every day you have to deal with customers, co-workers and bosses. Some of them are pleasant and competent but others require years of study to work out the way they tick. You have to solve workplace problems, get people to change they way they have always done things, negotiate agreement to new ideas. You also have to help people improve their performance, train and develop them, deal with matters of safety and discipline. You see, most people who get into positions of leadership have never had any training to equip them for their new role. So where do you get the know-how and confidence to handle all these challenges? And especially to do it discreetly so that you don't look incompetent for seeking advice? That's exactly what Managing People will give you. In its 184 pages you will find down-to-earth practical advice to help you:
When you practice the techniques and use the tools that you will find in Managing People, you will find that many of your problems at work disappear or at least show a noticeable improvement! By possessing and using the keys to self-confidence, communication and negotiation, you will be well placed to receive that next pay rise or promotion! So - how do you get this wonderful resource? I really want as many people as possible to have this information. That's why I have decided to offer this e-book absolutely FREE. That's right, and I do mean FREE - I don't even require you to register and give up your email address in order to get to the download page. But if you do leave your email address I will send you my free e-newsletter,Winning Ways at Work , every couple of weeks or so.
